The Gardener's Wife
Elizabeth Hyman, founder of The Gardener's Wife, creates sustainable dried florals and handmade goods, inspired by nature, creativity, and meaningful connections.
Elizabeth Hyman is the vibrant force behind The Gardener’s Wife, a brand she launched in October 2021. In her first year, she hustled through over 80 pop-up markets across Texas, meeting the creative partners who would later help her open two brick-and-mortar shops: Clover + Maven and The Hat & Floral Bar. The camaraderie at these markets and the inspiration from fellow artists fuel her passion daily.
Originally hailing from New Jersey, Elizabeth found her true home in Austin, Texas, in 2008. With a strong background in hospitality, she pivoted during the pandemic to keep a restaurant afloat. But when she lost her job two and a half years into the pandemic, it was perfect timing—The Gardener’s Wife was taking off, and the opportunity with Clover + Maven emerged like serendipity. Inspired by her husband’s landscape design business, Austin Yard Barber, Elizabeth channeled her passion into The Gardener’s Wife, with a focus on sustainable florals and handmade goods. Her mantra, "We are all connected, nourish your roots," reflects her deep commitment to community, eco-friendly practices, and meaningful connections.
When she’s not crafting floral magic or collaborating with local artists, Elizabeth loves spending time with her three dogs, running around Town Lake, and creating quirky Instagram reels that bring smiles to her followers. Her home life is a beautiful, plant-filled chaos shared with her husband, dogs, and family members who also live in Austin.
